Randomly draw teams to groups
It's possible to draw teams into groups. It's random, but it's also smart.
The first nice thing...
The system will understand that teams from the same club should be kept apart as much as possible, so it will do that.
The other nice thing...
Just like the World Cup and Euro Championships, you can also seed your teams if you want. If you know that there are certain teams that you want to keep apart, you can use the seedings feature too.
To do the draw, follow these instructions:
- Left menu: Tournament
- Top menu: Categories
- Click into the category you want to start with first
- Click the Teams tab
- You'll see the list of teams and a blank field beside each one for their Seed
-
If teams don't delete their club name when they register and just append their team name, it will be displayed as 'club name'/'user input'.
-
- Enter a seed for one or more teams, e.g.:
- England 1
- France 1
- Ireland 1
- Wales 2
- Scotland 2
- Iceland 2
- and so on. You can leave some blank too.
- Teams with the same seeding will be kept apart. E.g., Ireland and England will not be in the same group in this example. Teams from the same club are automatically kept apart.
- Click Draw teams to Group
- You can repeat it if you want to do the draw again.
-
If there are multiple teams from the same club and not enough groups, the system won't draw all of the teams into groups; they must be manually assigned. - Teams that are not in a group will have '?' instead of a group number.
