Error/confirmation messages

If the game sheet is incorrectly filled out from the system's perspective—for example, if the head coach or captain is not selected—a message will be displayed, informing you of the missing detail.

In the screenshot above, you can see possible error messages that may appear while setting up or reviewing the roster.
Example of a confirmation message.

Reviewing the roster

On the initial setup page, select the players and coaches for the lineup of an individual game. You can view the selected players and coaches on the 'Players' tab for both teams.

On the rosters view, you can enter the players' jersey numbers if, for some reason, they are changed. Note that two players cannot have the same number in a single game.

Completed view with player selections and coach selections:

  1. Check the box next to the name of the players who are participating in the game
  2. Verify the players' jersey numbers
    1. Type in a new number if needed.
  3. Select the captain
  4. Check the box next to the name of the coaches who are in the game
  5. Select the head coach
Red squares are there to help you notice the key details. Home and away teams work exactly alike.

After you have made the selections, you are able to proceed to confirm the 'game info' using the green arrow. If you would like to go back to correct something, you can do so with the black arrow. Please note that once the first event of the game has been marked after the game has started, you can no longer return to previous stages.

Reviewing Playing Time, the Table Officials, and Starting 5

Review the following (and type in if needed):

  • Playing time and type
  • Referees (If you have nominated them, their names are displayed.)
  • Scorer (If you have nominated them, their names are displayed, otherwise type in)
  • Timer (If you have nominated them, their names are displayed, otherwise type in)

The required fields for proceeding will turn blue. If you would like to proceed without adding table officials, that is possible, but a confirmation message will be displayed.

The starting five is confirmed by deselecting the players who are not in the starting five.

Once the players in the starting five are the only ones selected, you can proceed to the next stage by clicking the green arrow at the bottom of the page.

Starting the game

When you start the game and create the first event in the game sheet, you can no longer go back to edit the lineup or starting five. The screenshot below is displaying the view when the game has not been started.

The game has not started yet, and you are able to return to the previous stage by clicking the black arrow in the bottom of the screen.
After clicking 'start' (see the previous screenshot) there will a confirmation message. Clicking the green arrow starts the game.

The game can be started according to your preferences, either a few minutes before the tip-off or at the moment of the tip-off. Some users prefer to start the game before the tip-off to avoid rushing if the first points are scored just seconds after the tip-off.

When the game has started, the number of fouls and timeouts is displayed along with the current quarter. There are also four different filtering options for various display settings: 'Narrow', 'Names', 'Fouls', and 'Events'. The quarter is changed using the green button which displays the current quarter.

To avoid accidental quarter changes, there will be displayed a confirmation message when proceeding to next quarter.

On the left/right side of the players are the 'event buttons'. All of them work with the same idea of selecting the event first, then connecting the event to the certain player.

  • Points(+1, +2, +3) = Select the point amount, then the player who scored the points.
  • Foul = Select 'Foul', select the player/coach and then select the foul type.
    • The system notifies about disqualifications according to the rules of the game.
  • Played = When a player enters the court, they are marked as being on the court.
    • If you accidentally miss who has been on the court and who hasn't, and try to connect them to an event, a confirmation message will be displayed.
  • Timeout = choose the minute at which the timeout is used. For example, if there are 2 minutes remaining in the quarter (a 10-minute quarter), mark the timeout for the 8th minute.
      • With the previous example, the timeout would be selected to take place in the 8th minute.

Ending the game

Once the final quarter has been completed, and if the score is not tied, there will be a confirmation message when you try to proceed to the next quarter.

Double-check the officials and indicate whether the referees officiated the entire game.

Attendance numbers and possible protests must be added. If there is no need for recording those, they can be left blank. Licence numbers can be added, but if they are not used in the system, they can be left blank.

When all the referee and possible protests have been made and confirmed, and it is ensured that no additional protest are needed, press 'Save' at the bottom of the page.
