What does "Winners position" mean?
In each group and cup within a category you will see the option "Winners position" where you can enter a number.
This determines where the winner of that group finishes in terms of the category that they are in.
Examples to help explain it:
- If the groups in stage 1 are followed by a cup, then the winners of those groups don't actually confirm where they will finish in the tournament, so the option here should be set to 0.
- If there is a cup after the group stage, that cup winner is the winner of the tournament, so the option should be set to 1.
- If there are two cups, (eg. cup and plate) and for example 4 teams in each cup, the winners position could be set to 1 for the cup and 5 for the plate.
Further to this, you will find the option in matches which also gives you the option for the "places". This refers to the final position within that group. For example, the "Places" in the final of the plate would be 1 and 2. i.e. the winner of the final in the plate finishes 1st in the plate, and the runner up in the plate final finishes 2nd in the plate. So these refer to the places for that cup rather than the final position.
Summary: The "winners final position" relates to the final position for the team in terms of the category, and the "Places" refers to the final position in terms of the group/cup.
