Reviewing group standings and confirming them

As a reminder, as soon as the last result is entered for a group, the system will advance the teams to the second stage based on their final group positions.

Please note that the 'confirmation of a group' process, which is described below, is used as a handler. For example, in some cases, text messages are used to notify about the 2nd stage matches (this feature is not part of the list pricing). For regular users, 'confirmation of a group' is mostly a visual certainty that everything is going as it's supposed to. From the system's point of view, it's not required for calculating the 2nd stage groups.

Checklist for reviewing groups:

If you're hesitant on how teams were calculated to 2nd stage groups, go through the checklist before doing any manual work.

  1. Check if there are any matches without results
    1. Results from the menu on the left:
    2. Matches without results are listed.

  2. If there are no results to enter, proceed to check Group Status from the menu on top (List of groups that have not been confirmed).
    1. Some of the columns are explained as:
      1. Played = [number of played matches] / [number of matches in the group]
      2. Final positions = Positions awarded. If the running number skips a certain position, teams are tied.
      3. Ends = Ending time of the last match in the group
      4. Updated = Latest timestamp from any of the matches in the group
    2. Look for deviations in the 'final positions' column.
    3. In group O positions 2 & 3 were not awarded.

    4. Click Played [when the last match of the group ended]
    5. Tie-break criterias are displayed in the comparison column,

    6. The two criteria used were not enough to determine positions 2 & 3, and the system couldn't calculate positions 2 & 3. In these cases, you should review your rules and manually assign the required values to the position column.
    7. If changes were required, proceed to save.
    8. OPTIONAL: After saving, navigate back to the group, and click confirm. Confirming the group removes the group from the list, and now teams positions in the group are confirmed.
    9. This view can be found in the group details (Categories → Groups → scroll down).

    10. Confirming the group is mostly used when there are too few tie-break criteria used and a lot of manual work is required. This way, the user is able to keep track of which groups have been confirmed and which have not.

If there's a need to fix 2nd stage groups:

If you want to manually change the match pairings in the cup (e.g., if two teams from the same club are playing against each other, the same team appears twice, or you feel like there's a mistake), then follow these instructions
